Summer 2026
The Children's Theater Workshop will hold the 30th season of the Summer Theater Workshop for the children of Pamlico County.
The program will take place in “The Old Theater” on Broad Street in Oriental starting June 29th through July 24th, 2026. The workshop consists of four two-week, half day programs with appropriate age groupings.

The workshop always takes place at The Old Theater in downtown Oriental, providing the perfect backdrop of culture, arts, and history.

The workshop has a longstanding commitment to enriching the lives of children by providing a structured arts program led by an exceptional, and carefully chosen, theater arts Drama Coach.

The Littles (children who have completed 1st & 2nd grades) 9am-12pm
The Middle-Schoolers (children who have completed 5th-7th grades) 2pm-5pm

During the age-divided, 2-week sessions, children are introduced to theater skills such as acting fundamentals, learning to speak on stage, using drama exercises by playing theater games, see the behind-the-scenes work, learn to work in peer groups, and meet new friends.

Learning about the performing arts can teach important skills in life, such as self-confidence, cooperation, self-discipline, and concentration. Imagination is encouraged!

We keep the registration fee affordable at $25 to make it possible for all children to attend. Scholarships are available thanks to the generosity of our donors. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit so your donation is tax deductible.
The royalty - free play performed by our 8th-12th Grade Group in our 2025 season (“Robin Hood and the Wedding of Doom” By: David Neilsen) is part of a fantastic collection of plays for kids and teens on Drama Notebook.
